Cats and Flowers

As well as being a writer (and a musician, and a retired Episcopal priest, and a whole lot of other stuff), I am an avid gardener and a PROUD childless Cat Lady. On this page, you'll get cat and garden news, and some pictures.

The garden is starting to shake off winter, and I'm beginning to see the (thousands of) bulbs I planted last Fall do Their Thing. Hooray. Here's the first daffodil, and a pic of a new-to-me species tulip: Tulipa cretica.

Cat and garden stories...

Clark....

April 30, 2025: We're heading toward Spring, so I've got SEEDLINGS started: various flowers and vegetables, all slated for planting soonish, as the tender stuff can't go into the garden until after the Frost Free Date, which is essentially Memorial Day Weekend.

Lewis and Clark have begun to use the enclosed porch, again, and are hoping very much that the bird-feeders I placed nearby will soon attract some interesting kitty-video participants.

I did promise some Lewis news, so here it is:

Lewis is the thinker of the pair. Clark is all about action, but Lewis Works Things Out. He's the one who decided the new seedling light stand was really a cat tanning bed, and he's also the one who doesn't understand why the Cat Patio has only just now started to be warm enough for lounging!

---

It's winter (there's still a foot or so of wet snow on the ground), so there won't be much garden news for a while. But Clark...

Clark is always plotting trouble. There is NOTHING in the universe that doesn't have Serious Toy Potential, in his mind. Here, you can see him contemplating Mayhem with my (then) recently acquired metal oak leaf mobile. It's just who Clark is.

I'll write something about Lewis, soon...
